Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Table
Notes:
  All the possible malfunctions which can be recognized by the ABS Control Module (J104) and printed out on VAG 1551 are listed below according to the 4-digit DTC number.
  After performing repairs, the DTC Memory must always be interrogated once again with the Scan Tool VAG 1551 and erased, and a road test (with vehicle driven at more than 25 mph) also performed.
  Repeat the OBD after the road test.

M "No malfunction recognized' appears after completing repairs. OBD is ended.
Should the ABS system not operate properly although *No malfunction recognized" appears, continue troubleshooting without OBO and work through the electrical test complete => pago 01-26.
Blink code 1111 Control Module (J104) faulty
Electrical malfunctions caused by outside sources of interference or poor ground (GND) connections.

ABS Pressure Warning Switch II F116 ABS Brake Fluid Warning Switch -F117
Wiring between terminal 9 and terminal 10 ol ABS Control Module (J104) at compo­nents F116 and F117 has connection to Battery Positive (B+).
- Test cable between contact 9 and contact 10:
=> Test step 1) 31 and 32
- Unplug multi-pin connector from ABS Con­trol Module (J104), connect to test box VAG 1598 and adapter VAG. 1598/3.
- Use digital multimeter Fluke 83 (US 1119) to perform voltage measurement (20 V range) between contacts: 1 and 9 1 and 10 Specification: max. 0.1 V.

The test steps on the pages which follow apply to:
  Vehicles without On-Board Diagnostic (OBD).

  Vehicles on which OBD does not provide any indication of source of malfunction:
-  Perform test steps 1 ... 37.
  Vehicles on which OBD provides a direct indication of source of malfunction:
-  Perform only the test steps recommended from the DTC table (targeted test initiation).

Notes:
  All the possible malfunctions which can be recognized by the ABS Control Module (J104) and printed out by the VAG 1551 Scan Tool are listed below according to the 4-digit blink code number.
  Reference is made to individual test steps of the electrical test in the column "Correction".
  Before replacing the components indicated as being faulty, test all the appropriate connectors, wiring and Ground (GND) connections per the wiring diagram.
  After performing repairs, the DTC Memory must always be interrogated once again with the Scan Tool VAG 1551 and erased, and a road test (with vehicle driven at more than 25 mph) also performed.
  Repeat the OBD after the road test.

ABS Pressure Warning Switch II -F116 ABS Brake Fluid Level Warning Switch -F117
Wiring between contact 8 and contact 51 of ABS Control Module (J104) at components F116 and F117 has connection to Battery Positive (B+).
- Visual inspection of harness routing between contact 8 and contact 51 => Wiring diagram.
- Unplug multi-pin connector from control module, connect to tester VAG 1598 and measure voltage with digital multimeter Fluke 83 (US 1119) between the contacts.
- Unplug multi -pin connector from control module, connect to test box VAG 1598 and measure voltage with digital multimeter Fluke 83 (US 1119) between the contacts: Sand 1: max. 01. V 51 and 1: max. 0.1 V
